Medical disciplines on the Double First-Class list: clinical medicine, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine and others
Sources checked · Unofficial summary
The second-round Double First-Class annex prints disciplines for particular institutions. Under the category 医学 (Medicine), it prints Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Pharmacy, Chinese Materia Medica and Nursing, and each heading below names the institutions printed for it. This page is a reference guide; the wider section page of this directory groups universities by subject area.
Each discipline below gives its Chinese name, this directory's English name, its code, the number of institutions counted from the entries of the annex, and those institutions in the order the annex prints them. A printed row is a line for an institution and a discipline. It does not say that the institution is a medical university, and this page does not say which institutions are.
Where the list comes from
The list is annex 1 to the notice 教研函〔2022〕1号 (Notice on publishing the list of second-round "Double First-Class" construction universities and disciplines), issued on 9 February 2022 by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. Paragraph 1 of the notice says the list was recognised by an expert committee, studied by the three ministries, and submitted to the State Council for approval. Counting the entries of the annex, 147 institutions appear, and 2 of them have no disciplines printed.
This site's English is its own translation of the Chinese text.

Institutions with no disciplines printed
Paragraph 2 of the notice says that 北京大学 (Peking University) and 清华大学 (Tsinghua University) determine their own construction disciplines and publish them themselves. The annex has no discipline rows for either. Its entries for both read 自主确定建设学科并自行公布 (self-determined and self-published). Their absence from the rows above says nothing about what either university teaches. Their directory pages are Peking University and Tsinghua University.
Names, dates and what this page does not cover
English names of institutions and disciplines on this page are this directory's renderings. The official lists are in Chinese, and the Chinese names are the names as printed in the annex of 9 February 2022. Institutions are named from that annex, not from any other list.
This page gives no tuition, fees, deadlines, scholarships, language scores, entry requirements or admission data for any university. It does not rank, recommend or compare institutions. Whether a programme is open to international students is set out in each university's own prospectus. Check the names and disciplines against the current official list before you rely on them.
The guide Double First-Class list explained describes how the list is built.
Questions people ask
Which official list does this page use?
The institutions and disciplines come from annex 1 to notice 教研函〔2022〕1号 of 9 February 2022, which is the second-round list of Double First-Class construction universities and disciplines, ordered by school code. The annex is published by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission.
Why do Peking University and Tsinghua University not appear in the discipline rows?
Paragraph 2 of the notice of 9 February 2022 says both universities determine their own construction disciplines and publish them themselves. The annex entries for both read 自主确定建设学科并自行公布, so no discipline is printed for either in the rows on this page.
Does a discipline appearing in the annex show that a programme accepts international students?
Each row is a line for an institution and a discipline in the annex. Whether a programme is open to international students is set out in that university's own prospectus, and that prospectus is the place to check.
Are the English names on this page official?
No. The English names of institutions and disciplines are this directory's renderings. The Chinese text of the notice and the annex is the official text, and the English on this page is this site's translation of it.
