Double First-Class universities in Wuhan and Hubei Province
Sources checked · Unofficial summary
Counting the entries of the annex, 7 institutions are printed under the Hubei header (湖北省) of the national list, which prints that header as 湖北省（134所）. The place column of the national list gives 武汉市 (Wuhan) for those 7 rows. The table below gives each entry's Chinese name as printed, the English name used by this directory, its place, its administering body and the disciplines printed for it.
This page is a reference list and makes no comparison between the institutions. The table follows the order of the annex, which is the order of school codes. This directory's section page lists universities by province.
Which lists and dates this page uses
The names and disciplines come from annex 1 of the notice of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission (教研函〔2022〕1号), dated 9 February 2022. That annex is the second-round Double First-Class list. Paragraph 1 of the notice says the institutions and disciplines were determined by an expert committee, studied by the three ministries and reported to the State Council for approval.
The place and administering body come from the national list of higher education institutions as of 17 June 2026, in attachment 1 (the list of regular higher education institutions), in its 所在地 (place) and 主管部门 (administering body) columns. The place is not taken from the annex.
English names of institutions and disciplines are this directory's renderings. The official lists are in Chinese, and the English on this page is this site's translation of that Chinese text. Confirm each entry against the current official list before you rely on it, because the lists may be updated.

Reading an entry
Each annex entry gives a Chinese name and a list of disciplines. Being in the annex does not show that a university enrols international students in any programme. For fees, deadlines, admission requirements and other admission details, use the university's own admission prospectus.
