Double First-Class universities in Tianjin

Five institutions printed under the Tianjin (天津市) header of the Ministry of Education's national list of higher education institutions are entries of the second-round Double First-Class list, counting the entries of the annex. The annex prints disciplines for each of the five, and the table below gives each entry in annex order. For universities by province, see this directory's section page.
The national list, as of 17 June 2026, prints the header 天津市（56所）, which states 56 institutions under that header. Counting the rows of the list under this header, 32 are at undergraduate level (本科) and 24 at junior-college level (专科).
The second-round list
The second-round list is annex 1 to Notice 教研函〔2022〕1号, issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission and dated 9 February 2022. The annex is titled 第二轮“双一流”建设高校及建设学科名单（按学校代码排序）, so its order is the order of school codes. Counting the entries of the annex, the list names 147 institutions. The notice states that an expert committee determined the list, and that the three ministries studied it and reported it to the State Council for approval.

Each row below is taken from the second-round list of 9 February 2022 (annex 1) and from the national list of 17 June 2026 (attachment 1, columns 所在地 and 主管部门). The English names of institutions and disciplines are this directory's renderings, not official translations. The official lists are in Chinese, and the English in this article is this site's translation of those Chinese texts.

Header and place
The national list is attachment 1 to the Ministry of Education's page dated as of 17 June 2026. Its rows have seven columns: 序号 (serial number), 学校名称 (school name), 学校标识码 (school identification code), 主管部门 (administering body), 所在地 (place), 办学层次 (level of study) and 备注 (remark). Each institution is printed under a provincial header, and the 所在地 column gives the place in its row. The two are not always the same.
One further entry has Tianjin as its place but is printed under the 河北省 (Hebei) header in the national list. Its row, row 152 of attachment 1, reads 河北工业大学 | 4113010080 | 河北省 | 天津市 | 本科. Its administering body column gives 河北省 and its place column gives 天津市. In the second-round list of 9 February 2022, its entry is 河北工业大学：电气工程, which this directory renders as Hebei University of Technology: Electrical Engineering, with its directory page. The Hebei header is the one it is printed under, so the five entries above are the ones counted under the Tianjin header.
