Double First-Class universities in Hangzhou and Zhejiang Province

Sources checked · Unofficial summary

Three institutions in Zhejiang Province are entries on the second-round "Double First-Class" list. Counting the entries of the list that match the Zhejiang Province header of the national list of higher education institutions, Zhejiang University and China Academy of Art are placed in Hangzhou, and Ningbo University is placed in Ningbo. This page gives each entry with its place, its administering body and the disciplines the list prints for it.

Zhejiang Province is one of the provinces in this directory's section page, which groups universities by province. Ningbo is in Zhejiang Province but is not in Hangzhou, so the Ningbo entry is included here and marked as placed in Ningbo.

About the two lists

The second-round list comes from the notice of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission, dated 9 February 2022 (教研函〔2022〕1号). Annex 1 of that notice is the list of second-round construction universities and disciplines, printed in order of school code. The annex names 147 institutions, counting the entries of the annex. This page uses annex 1 only.

The place, administering body and school code of each institution come from the national list of higher education institutions as of 17 June 2026, published by the Ministry of Education. Its attachment 1 is the list of regular higher education institutions. Its columns are serial number, school name, school code, administering body, place, level of education and remark. The second-round list does not print these fields.

The English names of institutions and disciplines on this page are this directory's renderings. They are not official translations, and the official lists are in Chinese. The English on this page is this site's translation of the Chinese text.

Being on the list does not by itself show that a university enrols international students in a given programme. Fees, deadlines and entry requirements are set out in each university's own admission prospectus, not on this page.

Entries printed under the Zhejiang header

The national list of 17 June 2026 prints the header 浙江省（111所） for Zhejiang Province, which is 111 institutions as printed in the header. Counting the rows under that header, 66 are at undergraduate level (本科), 45 are at junior-college level (专科), and 32 have 民办 (privately run) in the remark column. These are this site's counts from the rows of the list.
