Counting the entries of the second-round Double First-Class annex, this site finds 433 discipline entries under thirteen categories of the Ministry of Education's 2022 discipline catalogue. Engineering has 179 entries and Natural sciences has 93. The counted line states that none of the annex's discipline names falls under the catalogue's category 军事学 (Military science).

Where the figures come from
The annex is annex 1 to the notice of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission, dated 9 February 2022, document number 教研函〔2022〕1号. Paragraph 1 of the notice names the annex as the list of second-round "Double First-Class" construction universities and disciplines. The annex is ordered by school code, and its order is the order of school codes.
Paragraph 2 of the notice says that Peking University and Tsinghua University determined their construction disciplines themselves and published them separately. The counted line records two institutions with no disciplines printed. These are the two institutions that paragraph 2 describes.
The counts in this article are made by this site from the entries of the list. Counting the entries of the list, the annex has 147 institutions, of which 2 have no disciplines printed. Counting the entries of the list, there are 433 discipline entries across the other 145 institutions and 97 different discipline names.
