Arts disciplines on the Double First-Class list: music, drama and film, fine art and design

Sources checked · Unofficial summary

The second-round Double First-Class annex prints five disciplines from the arts category: Art Theory, Music and Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Fine Arts and Design. Counting the entries of the annex, Art Theory is printed for 1 institution, Music and Dance for 3, Drama, Film and Television for 3, Fine Arts for 2 and Design for 2. The institutions for each discipline are listed below, and this page belongs to this directory's section page.

The annex is annex 1 to Notice 教研函〔2022〕1号 of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission, dated 9 February 2022. Its title is 第二轮“双一流”建设高校及建设学科名单（按学校代码排序）, which can be rendered as "List of second-round 'Double First-Class' construction universities and disciplines (ordered by school code)". The annex prints its entries in school-code order, and this page keeps that order. The annex is in Chinese and prints no English names; the English names of institutions and disciplines below are this directory's renderings, not official translations. The English in this article is this site's translation of the Chinese text. Confirm every name against the current official list before you rely on it.

How the disciplines are grouped

This directory places the five disciplines in the arts category (艺术学) as its own grouping, following the Ministry's discipline catalogue. The discipline codes 1301 to 1305 are the codes this directory gives. The annex prints no ranking, no score and no province for any entry.

Peking University and Tsinghua University

Peking University and Tsinghua University have no disciplines printed in the annex, so their absence from these rows says nothing about what they teach. The annex entry for each of them reads 自主确定建设学科并自行公布, which means the university determines and publishes its own construction disciplines. The notice's second paragraph states the same arrangement. The directory's pages for Peking University and Tsinghua University are the places to check their programmes.

What the annex does not show

Being on this list does not show that a university enrols international students in a given programme. Whether a programme is open to international students is stated in each university's own admission prospectus. The annex does not cover annex 2 of the notice, which concerns first-round disciplines given a public warning, and this page names none of those disciplines.

The guides Double First-Class list explained and how to check a Chinese university against the Ministry list explain how the lists are published and how to confirm an entry.
