Agricultural disciplines on the Double First-Class list and the universities listed for them

The second-round Double First-Class annex, dated 9 February 2022, prints named institutions for a set of agriculture-category disciplines. The lists below give each discipline's institutions in the order of the annex entries, with its Chinese name, this directory's English name and its discipline code. How to read the lists

The list is annex 1 to notice 教研函〔2022〕1号, issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. Paragraph 1 of the notice says the institutions and disciplines were determined by an expert committee, studied by the three ministries and submitted to the State Council for approval. Annex 2 of the notice, which lists first-round disciplines given a public warning, is not covered here.

The annex is ordered by school code. Each count below is a count of the entries of the list, made for this directory, and it is not a quality score. The English names of institutions and disciplines are this directory's renderings, not official translations, and the official lists are in Chinese. The English on this page is this site's translation of the Chinese text. Confirm against the current official list before you rely on any row.

Whether a programme is open to international students is set out in each university's own prospectus. Being named in the annex for a discipline does not, by itself, show which programmes a university offers to international students.

The annex entries for 北京大学 (Peking University) and 清华大学 (Tsinghua University) print no disciplines. Paragraph 2 of the notice (9 February 2022) states that these two universities determined their own construction disciplines in the second round and published them themselves. Their absence from the rows above says nothing about what they teach.

Which list do the agriculture disciplines on this page come from?

They come from annex 1, the list of second-round Double First-Class construction universities and disciplines, attached to notice 教研函〔2022〕1号 issued by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission. The annex is dated 9 February 2022 and is ordered by school code.

Does being named in the annex show that a university takes international students in that discipline?

No. Whether a programme is open to international students is set out in each university's own admission prospectus, and the annex does not replace that prospectus.

Why are Peking University and Tsinghua University not in these rows?

Their annex entries print no disciplines. Paragraph 2 of the notice (9 February 2022) says the two universities determined their own construction disciplines in the second round and published them themselves, so their absence from these rows says nothing about what they teach.
