We've scoured, interviewed and examined to put together a list of Chinese universities that we feel comfortable recommending.  Universities with a Graduation Cap next to their name are those that we believe will provide foreign students with the richest cultural and academic experience.  We hope this list will provide you with a great jumping-off point to your own academic China experience.

Tsinghua University Since China opened up to the world in 1978, Tsinghua University has developed at a breathtaking pace into a comprehensive research university. At present, the university has 14 schools and 56 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art. The University has now over 25,900 students, including 13,100 undergraduates and 12,800 graduate students. As one of China’s most renowned universities, Tsinghua has become an important institution for fostering talent and scientific research. Tsinghua University has many degree and non-degree programs as well as summer school, short programs and student exchange programs to choose from. The student body is very active, participating in dozens of student run organizations, and is conveniently located in Beijing. China Jiliang University China Jiliang University is situated about 45 minutes outside of Hangzhou, a beautiful city and tourist destination about 2 hours west of Shanghai. We've visited this university in person and were impressed by its clean, modern architecture, on a beautiful and tranquil campus. The university boasts a full-time staff of 1,020 full time employees including 650 faculty members, and a student body of about 13,000 students. The University has 11 colleges as follows: the College of Metrological Technology and Engineering, the College of Mechatronics Engineering, the College of Information Engineering, the College of Sciences, the College of Management, the College of Life Sciences, the College of Foreign Languages, the College of Law, the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, the College of Modern Science & Technology, and the College of Continuing Education. It offers 29 undergraduate programs ranging over 6 academic subjects in engineering, management, law, arts, science, and economics. It is also the only university qualified to offer Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the sectors of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.
